Logistics challenges 2022: Salix Fruits puts operations as a priority

Faced with the demands and difficulties generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the leading company in the import and export of fresh fruits, named Juan Gonzalez Pita as its COO.

The founder of Salix Fruits will aim to successfully coordinate operations, logistics, and the commercial area.

The world has entered the third wave of COVID-19 and the pandemic continues to challenge not only the health system but also the market and the economy. Salix Fruits, the leading company in the import and export of fresh fruits, anticipates the obstacles and difficulties that logistics will bring in 2022 and puts operations as a priority for the company.

That is why they announced the appointment of Juan Gonzalez Pita as Chief Operating Officer (COO). To prioritize the operation and provide the best service to their clients, they created and formalized the position of Director of Operations and placed one of the partners in that role.

Gonzalez Pita founded the company in 2011 and in his previous role as Sales Director he managed to grow the team to more than 20 employees, work with more than 80 producers in 18 countries, and have more than 400 clients in 57 countries.

During the announcement, the executive stated: “2021 was a demanding year in which we had innumerable logistical difficulties, which we were able to overcome and solve in a very good way, but we believe that this is going to be one of the great challenges of 2022 and that is why we put it at the front of our agenda”.

The new COO, who has a degree in Business Administration from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella and an MBA from IAE, will be in charge of coordinating the company's operations, from the commercial and operational aspects, including logistics and documentation.

“As part of our projects for the coming year, we aspire to grow and continue to strengthen certain origins that are very important to us, such as Spain and Peru”, concluded the founder of Salix Fruits.
